Oral Conscious Sedation/IV Conscious Sedation
Dr. Mary Ann is licensed in IV Conscious Sedation and both Dr. Mary Ann and Dr. Terry Work are licensed in Oral Conscious Sedation.
One of the primary aims of doctors is the management of pain and anxiety in their dental patients. Pain associated with dental treatment is generally managed through administration of local anesthetic at the start of treatment.
Fear of pain is a major deterrent to the delivery of dental care today. Patients who are not in pain fear the visit to the dentist because they believe at some time during their treatment they will be hurt. Fear of pain creates an increase in anxiety, which leads to avoiding dental care until they truly are in pain. It is a fact today; all dental care can be completed without discomfort to the patient.
Drs. Terry Work and Mary Ann Work are qualified to offer various types of sedation to those patients who otherwise would not be able to get their dental work done.
