What Can I Do to Make My Child's Appointment Go Smoothly?

There are a few things you can do before making a dental appointment for your child:

Do Your Research

Search for family dentists that devote a portion of their dental practice to treating patients with disabilities. Call and ask questions. Dental Works is here to answer any questions about the superior dentistry we provide to Phoenix-area patients with special needs.

Communicate with Us

Telling us everything you can about your child before their dental appointment will help us be completely prepared for their arrival. For example, does the patient use crutches or a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy? Or, if they are on the autism spectrum, are they sensitive to noise or light? Answering these questions will allow our caring dentists and staff to create both a customized dental treatment plan and a calming atmosphere to make the appointment go smoothly.

Consider Relaxing Sedation

Dental Works offers calming sedation to help patients of all ages with special needs stay relaxed and comfortable during dental procedures. This safe form of dentistry can reduce anxiety, treatment time, and discomfort. Rest assured, our dentists will never rush through a special needs patient's appointment, but will always take their time and pay extra attention to the patient's comfort level.
