All-on-4 Dental Implants

Dental implants provide a host of amazing benefits for patients with missing teeth, but not everyone qualifies for treatment.

All-on-4® dental implants allow more people than ever to qualify and benefit from dental implants.

Dr. Terry Lee Work and Dr. Mary Ann Work in Scottsdale, AZ, can place dental implants using the All-on-4 method to restore your smile.

What Are All-on-4 Implants?

The All-on-4 method uses four strategically placed dental implants to maximize the available jawbone. This allows more people to qualify for the amazing benefits dental implants provide. While the All-on-4 method has all of the same benefits as traditional dental implants, including bone health benefits, there are a few differences that make them an excellent dental option for some patients.

No Bone Grafting Needed

Traditional implants require sufficient bone tissue for a strong foundation. This means patients with existing bone loss often do not qualify for dental implants unless they undergo bone grafting. Using the All-on-4 method, our Scottsdale dentists can place four implants at strategic angles to maximize the existing bone material without bone grafting.

Less Invasive

Because All-on-4 implants only require four implants per arch, it is less invasive. Traditional implants for complete tooth loss typically require six or even eight implants per arch. Fewer implants mean reduced healing time.

Can Be Less Expensive

Again, because the All-on-4 method only needs four implants per arch, less time and material are needed. Fewer implants can reduce the overall cost of your treatment.

Immediate Restoration

Traditional dental implants typically require three to six months of healing time for the implants fuse to the jaw, a process called osseointegration. All-on-4 dental implants allow your dentist to place either a permanent or temporary set of dentures on the same day as surgery.

Consultation

During your initial consultation at our dentistry practice in Scottsdale, AZ, your dentist will examine your mouth and discuss your concerns to determine if the All-on-4 method is the best treatment for you.

Impressions

Using digital technology, your dentist will take impressions of your mouth so that your custom dentures can be crafted.

Sedation/Anesthetic

Our Scottsdale dental practice offers sedation options to help patients relax in the dental chair. Your dentist will discuss your options during your initial consultation.

Implant Placement

In a surgical procedure, your dentist will make small incisions in the gums before placing the implants directly into your jaw. Our dentists use 3D CT scans and surgical guides to ensure the precise placement of your implants.

Restoration Placed

In some cases, the permanent set of dentures are secured to the implants. Other patients will require a temporary set to be placed first.

Healing

Over the next several months, your implants will fuse to your jawbone. Your dentist will provide you with all the information you need to remain comfortable as you heal.

Caring for Your Implants and Dentures

Caring for your implants and dentures is easy. Because your dentures are secured to the implants, you will not need to remove them. Instead, treat your dentures like natural teeth.

Brush and floss twice a day and continue to visit your dentist regularly to maintain your new smile and oral health. A water flosser or floss threader can help clean under the restoration. With proper care, your dental implants will last a lifetime, while your dentures can last 15 years or more.

Insurance and Financing

While we do work with most dental insurance plans and providers, they typically do not cover the cost of dental implants. However, we accept CareCredit® and Sunbit so you can finance the cost of treatment into affordable monthly payments. Contact us to learn more about financing.
